How to use the courses as virtual Driving Ranges or to play a practice round.
MENU ITEMS
In addition to the standard Menu items covered in the How To Use OptiShot section, Practice Mode has some new items.
On the Shot Info menu in the upper right you have the item Always Follow.
By selecting this you will follow the ball down the course as you shoot. If you uncheck this, after your shot is complete you will return to the location the shot originated. This lets you practice a particular shot over and over.
On the Location menu in the upper right you will see New Hole and Change Course.
Opening the New Hole submenu allows you to move to any hole on the course.
You can also move by using your keyboard. Simply click the number you wish to move to.
- The numbers 1 through 9 take you to holes 1 through 9.
- The 0 (zero) will take you to the 10th hole.
- To get to holes 11 through 18, hold down the Control key on the keyboard and click the numbers 1 through 8.
Opening the Change Course submenu allows you to move to any other available course. Simply select the course from the list and click Go to this course.
POSITIONING THE BALL
When you are in Practice Mode, you can place the ball anywhere you wish. There are two ways to place the ball on a particular hole.
The first is to click with the mouse on the Overhead Map. Wherever you click, OptiShot will move your ball to that location.
If you wish more precise placement you can Ctl+click in the course view. That is, hold down the Control key and click the left mouse button. This allows you to precisely place the ball in the desired location.
MULTIPLE PLAYERS
When in Practice Mode, any number of players can participate. Simply use the Player Selection dropdown list in the upper left of the window.
When you switch to a different player, that player's settings and clubset are applied.
Note that OptiShot displays whether this player is right or left handed.
