Why do I periodically get a 350+ drive?

Two or Three times during a normal 18 hole game the driver will read out as a 350+ drive??? The rest are normal??

There are a couple ways that this may happen. OptiShot's sensors fire pulses of infrared light straight up and expect to receive that light reflected straight back down. In both cases the Swing Pad is tricked into thinking the club head is suddenly further along in its swing path that it actually is. In both cases, this results in an abnormally high swing speed and that translates into an abnormally long distance the ball may travel.

The first case generally applies to drivers. Because of the angular, or painted, or textured design of some divers, the infrared light is reflect ahead of the club head skewing the results received by the front bank of sensors. If this is only happening with your driver then try using another driver. Or you might try teeing up lower since this shortens the reflection distance, increasing the odds of a good read.

The second case generally applies to irons. When using irons, one tends to either take a divot or sweep the turf. Either way, after a great number of swings, it is possible that the green top turf of the Swing Pad could creep forward. Then the next swing taken might cause the turf to stretch forward just enough to trick the front sensor into thinking the club head is inches ahead of where it actually is, resulting in a high swing speed and distance. If this is the kind of behavior you are seeing, carefully peel the top turf up off of the Swing Pad then realign and re-seat it to the housing. You may need to use a pair of scissors to trim the front edge of the the turf as well to keep it clear of the front sensors.
