    I built mine extremely cheap....

Got most of my materials from home depot...

I used (in this order); 1/4" hardboard (4'x8'), 1/2" Styrofoam insulation (2 - 4'x8'), 1/4" hardboard (4'x8'), 7/16" foam puzzle pieces (actually got from Walmart), indoor/outdoor carpet (picked up from carpet store). Glued it all together using spray adhesive

The Optishot sits on the bottom layer (I used a jigsaw to notch out before installing the carpet), you notch the foam (before you install the carpet) for the USB cable and it lines up perfect with the Optishot height.

I finished off my install with a 1x2 pine trim around the perimeter.

We just built our platform according to the instructions. It is nice but we have had some issues with the leading edge of the platform getting hit by the followthrough. I have had to use duct tape to keep the turf down. I upgraded to the thicker turf and like the feel of the shot, but the platform ledge is an issue. I will have to retake to protect the edge. Not ideal.

I am close to releasing an alternative version of my turf that extends the turf about 5 inches beyond the front sensor with the embedded urethane underneath at full thickness. Should be available within the next two weeks. I have a couple of prototypes made up now that are being tested. please pm me and I will work something out with you that I am sure you will be happy with.

Joe, thank you for all your help! To all the Optishot users, I highly recommend the longer, 5" turf that he sells. It's fabulous. No more issues with the follow through edge and the turf, both monster and the premium turf that is available is beyond "great" in terms of adding a realistic feel to the unit. Our original turf was falling apart and we had to glue the edges down. The premium turf and/or monster turf creates is a must-add for every user. As a bonus, we have put together a stance mat that matches the height of the premium turf and have been able to practice without the platform when we want more portability. I'm thrilled. I will be adding pictures to our set up, as we're using our unit in our living room ( I know...we're golf nuts) and simply love to play several times a week for fun and practice. Thanks, Joe. You are ONE class act!

Thanks you for your kind comments. It was a pleasure working with you testing the prototype. I am getting ready to list the Premier XL turf on Ebay by the end of this week under my handle jagmanjoe. It will be a little longer before it is added to the slickthings site but, in the interim, any questions about it will be responded to rapidly. I, as well as many others, I am sure will be looking forward to the posting of pics.
